About the Stadium

The Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium complex is the only stadium in the country to host four minor league teams:

  • Jupiter Hammerheads of the Class A-Advanced Baseball Florida State League
  • Palm Beach Cardinals of the Class A-Advanced Baseball Florida State League
  • Gulf Coast Marlins of the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League
  • Gulf Coast Cardinals of the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League

Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is one of only two stadiums in Florida to host two Major League Baseball teams annually for Spring Training:

  • Miami Marlins
  • St. Louis Cardinals

The teams share the main stadium where the games are played. However, the teams have their own practice fields, outdoor batting cages, several pitching mounds, and state-of-the-art conditioning rooms.

In September 2012, the stadium hosted the qualifying round for the 2013 World Baseball Classic. Spain, France, Israel, and South Africa took part in the qualifier.

Roger Dean, Tribute to a Visionary

Roger Houston Dean was born in 1915 and served as a naval officer in World War II. He started his career as an auto dealer with Ford Motor Company in 1947 and became one of the first mega-dealers in the United States. Along with his hard work and dedication, Mr. Dean’s success was achieved by his ongoing goal to create “customers for life” by selling a quality product at a fair price and by providing the best customer service possible.

In 1960, he made Palm Beach County his home and opened his Chevrolet dealership on Dixie Highway and, later, moved the dealership to a new facility on Okeechobee Boulevard and Congress Avenue.

Mr. Dean’s daughter, Patty, is continuing her father’s legacy by ensuring that courtesy, honesty, conviction and faith remain at the core of her two dealerships, Roger Dean Chevrolet of West Palm Beach and Roger Dean Chevrolet of Cape Coral.

The naming rights for our beautiful baseball complex was a surprise gift by Patty Dean, and her husband, Park Miller. Patty says, “we are proud of my father’s contributions to our community and are extremely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful facility.  We invite everyone to come out and enjoy this season and all the ones to follow.”
