The six players that will be participating in the 2019 Florida State League Home Run Derby presented by Tire Kingdom have officially be announced. The Derby will take place at 5 PM at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium on Saturday, June 15th prior to the league’s All-Star Game.

Highlighting the participants is Dermis Garcia from the Tampa Tarpons. The Dominican Republic native leads the league with 14 home runs. He has hit 58 career home runs in 285 games and finished the last four seasons with double-digit home runs.

Representing the Lakeland Flying Tigers is Brady Policelli. The catcher already has seven home runs through 58 games after needing 98 games to reach that mark a season ago. He current ranks tied for sixth in the league in home runs.

Ryan Jeffers, catcher from the Ft. Myers Miracle, has the most home runs in the league among his position with eight through 51 games. The 2018 second round pick already has 15 career home runs in his first 115 games.

From the Charlotte Stone Crabs, infielder Jim Haley will be participating after hitting six home runs through the first half of the season and is tied for first on Charlotte in home runs.

From the Bradenton Marauders, Dylan Busby, who ranks second in the Florida State League with 13 homers, will also be participating. The Sarasota native and Florida State alum already has 21 career homers in his first 144 career games.

And from the hosting Palm Beach Cardinals, catcher Julio Rodriguez will step up into a batter’s box he is more than familiar with. Through 45 games in 2019, Rodriguez has five home runs bringing his career total to 25 in just 209 career games.
